First of all I know that we all cannot be perfect,I also know that every event organizer in port-harcourt is working really hard to make the entertainment industry stand firm,but there are some issues I’d like to “emphasize” on..
1.UNDERSTANDING THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY: The entertainment industry aint for everyone,entertainment on its own is art,if its not in you,it’s not in you..you cant force it,showbiz isn’t for everyone,in as much as we all wanna build a standard fashion scene in ph,we all need to work really hard,showbiz demands a lot of time&energy and fashion as well,people need to understand that fame is “expensive” I’ll rather not do a show,than to do one that’s not up to the required standard,Basically in showbiz Good”capital”is needed people need to respect that or do something simple&classy!what I’m saying in conclusion is if you don’t have enough capital don’t organize a show please.
2.THE RUNWAY: The runway is the most attractive part of any fashion show if you ask me,if you as an event organizer would like to build a standard runway and it doesn’t work the way you want you could use a mere tiled floor,I mean the previous”Mercedez Benz fashion wk”was on a floor,with no platform..the beauty of any runway no matter how small or large is the arrangement of the audience!
3.EVENT AUDICTIONS: if you’re an event organizer and you’re partial,I’m so sorry to say this…you are so unprofessional!and that way the industry in ph might not grow to the standard we all want!During a model casting,if a model cant walk,by walk I mean “rock the runway” please that model should chill & work more on him or herself,it should be some kinda challenge,I’ve attended fashion shows in ph lately & i’ve seen models slip off the runway its so unprofessional..if an upcoming artist or comedian wants a slot in your event,do well to spend a lil time with them hear what they have to offer!that way you know who to pick&you avoid boring your audience!
4.DESIGNERS CORNER: as a designer the runway should be respected by you,if you get what I mean..if you wanna hit the runway as a designer it shouldn’t be with just mere pieces,there should be something more!something thrilling!!!something no one has ever come up with,something original,something you!I’m not saying I’m a perfect designer,I’ve done couple of things people have already showcased on the runway as well..but to an extent I wouldn’t showcase if I don’t have new collections to showcase,and pls we all should come up with lively pieces!I know we can! I barely do runway in port-harcourt not because I’m too full of myself,not because I don’t want to,but because I always expect much more..so pls let’s work together & i know we can build a much more impressive fashion/entertainment industry in PORT-HARCOURT thank you!
